Paranoia envelopes Trump’s White House

Staffers at President Donald Trump’s White House seems to be surrounded in a culture of fear and paranoia. Press Secretary Sean Spicer has initiated phone checks to make sure no one is leaking information that could show dissension within the newly minted administration. One senior aide said “People are scared,” adding that “The Trump White House had become a pretty hostile environment to work in.” Another aide has taken steps to quarantine their phone from fears that the surveillance community was keeping tabs on those closest to the President. “I’m paranoid,” said the aide. “Anything significant seems to be on the front page the next day.” Trump himself has not proved to be impervious from the growing paranoia. “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” tweeted the President on March 4th. He later called the Ex-President Obama a “bad or sick guy” and likened him to Ex-President Nixon and the Watergate Scandal. On March 16th, the Republican and Democratic leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee said they saw no evidence to support President Donald Trump’s claim that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the 2016 presidential campaign. Even House Leader, Paul Ryan, who has been an ally to the President, went on record saying “No such wiretap existed.”
