On March 21st, a White House spokesperson confirmed that Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, had recieved top security clearances and would work out of an office in the White House’s west wing. Previously, Ivanka held no formal role however appeared with the President in many brefings and meetings alongside his advisors and cabinet officials. Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, had been a senior White House advisor since the start of the Trump Administration. Press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that “Ivanka has taken on several measures to promote high standards of ethical conduct”. Ivanka, along with Trump advisor and Goldman Sachs CEO Gary Cohn, represent the more liberal side of Trump’s advisory cabinet. Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner were some of the major advisors who convinced Trump not to sign the executive order repealing Obama-era protections for LGBT government workers, and Ivanka has expressed support for “Carbon Credits” for businesses to help fight climate change.
